Meta's new Muse app raises privacy and identity questions.

Meta has introduced an AI assistant named Muse alongside a new Mac application. This software integrates deeply with user data by accessing messages, calendars, and notes. However, observers have noted that the assistant struggles to explain its own identity or function clearly. This behavior was recently highlighted on Threads by an editor at Inc Magazine.

For business leaders, this release highlights the ongoing integration of AI tools into desktop environments. Applications with broad access to communications and schedules require careful evaluation regarding privacy and security. Furthermore, tools that cannot accurately describe their own capabilities may present usability challenges. Organizations must weigh these operational risks before adopting deeply connected software.
